The Colleen De Reuck Cross Country Classic is a XC meet honoring one of the world's greatest ever distance athletes and Boulder local, Colleen De Reuck.
Each year, we celebrate Colleen’s career and her devotion to the sport of running, while promoting health and fitness, and also acknowledging a different local Olympian every year. For 2025, we are excited to announce that 2012 London Olympic Marathoner, Yoshimi Ozaki from Japan, will be the Olympian that we will be honoring.
Yoshimi, made her first senior international team at the 2006 IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Japan, where she finished 19th in the long course event, and helped Japan win the team bronze medal. In 2007, she competed at the 2007 IAAF World Road Running Championships in Italy, where she finished 13th, and again helped Japan win a bronze medal, while running a half marathon personal best time of 1:09.26.

Later that year, she won the Tokyo International Women's Marathon in a personal best time of 2:23:30.
In 2009, Yoshimi was selected for Japan at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin, and won a silver medal in a time of 2:25:25, and then at the 2010 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in China, she was 9th, and led the Japanese women’s team to a bronze medal.
In 2011, Yoshimi won the Yokohama International Women's Marathon, and broke the course record with a time of 2:23:56. Then in August, she ran at the 2011 World Athletics Championships in Daegu, finishing 18th, and running 2:32:31. She then followed up in November with another marathon, finishing 2nd at the Yokohama International Women's Marathon in a time 2:26.49.
